"Audiology is bigger than simply hearing tests and fitting hearing aids, and that isn't immediately obvious to those who don't participate in our everyday lives."
Ritesh explains that as he works in the private sector, he would never fit a client with a full prescription for their complete hearing loss. "It's too loud and its a huge shock to their system to go from not hearing to suddenly hearing the world at a loud volume. This is somewhat different to the NHS system who want their backlog of patients to disappear as quick as possible therefore would fit their patient with the cheapest hearing aid and full prescription to get their treatment over and done with as fast as possible."
"Louder is not clearer, and this is my motto when it comes to my rehabilitation program. I like to think of myself as an audiologist rehabilitation specialist."
