Audiology - A Newer Business

Ritesh decided to become an audiologist, as the need in the UK when he started 17 years ago was high and he wanted to fill a patient gap.
"When it came to hearing aids, you just had a bunch of salespeople selling to postcodes, there weren't many specialists and nobody knew a lot about this category in general. Everyone assumed that once hearing started to deteriorate, there was nothing that could be done and it was just a sign of getting old."
Ritesh decides that audiology and hearing aid consultancy is a science, which is why he immediately dismisses the question of audiology not being an interesting career to work in.
"It's never as simple as testing an individuals hearing and then giving them a prescription for their hearing loss."
